I love the weekends!

Notice Madeline's new earrings. She likes to try to feed herself. She definitely needs a little more practice before she will be proficient with that one!

She is doing really good with her walker though. She can go forward as well as backward now. She will back up when she gets to the carpet and turn herself around to go back the other way across the kitchen.

RonJon needed a little help getting up this morning!

Madeline loves playing (and drooling) in RonJon's hair.

She sits up pretty well on her own now.

Bo giving Madeline some love.

Cutest Baby

Madeline turned 6 months on the 14th and finally was allowed to go in the pool. The doctor discourages it younger than that due to tender baby skin and pool chemicals. She seemed to really enjoy it.

Daddy's Little Girl!

Madeline is already showing signs of being an animal lover.

Sorry that it has taken me so long to post new pics. I don't seem to be able to pick up internet at my house anymore and there are only so many things I can accomplish on my work computer. It seems a little tempermental about what things I can do here! RonJon went back to MEPS last Friday and got his waiver for his blood pressure. The only thing left to do is sign a contract and get dates to leave for basic. Maybe some time this week we will know. Madeline is doing well and is now switched to formula, baby foods, and cereal. Rachael heads back to school this week to get her last two classes needed for graduation in December. I am just hanging out here at Shelby trying to figure out my best course of action for coming off of orders in January and returning to civilian life. While I am quite ready to quit wearing these combat boots for a while the thought of returning back to "normal" after all this time is quite a daunting thought. Taking lots of leave between now and then to get myself prepared. Jennifer is doing ok at Ft. Bragg. Being a pretty female in a place with that much testosterone is sometimes a pretty daunting task, but she is hanging in there. Her 20th birthday was Monday. Geez, where did all the time go. A grandbaby, my "baby" in her 20's!! How did I get this old??!!

Paso Fino

Most of the week pretty much sucked. Tuesday I went to the foot doctor. I started getting treatment for the plantar warts and also discovered that I have something called Neuroma's. It's a growth of nerve tissue. It causes my third and fourth toes to go numb and makes the ball of my foot burn. It also makes it feel like there is a rock in my shoe. It's been happening for years. I just never knew what it was. They are treating the warts with an acid solution and they gave me injections in the top of my foot to help calm the nerve growth. My feet were bandaged all week and definitely didn't fit into my boots! I was really glad to take the bandages off today. Next appoint a week from Monday. Wednesday morning I woke up with a cold. I spent the rest of the week blowing my nose and wishing I could take a nap. I had to work Saturday morning. Sunday morning I finally woke up feeling a little better so I decided to go to the Deep South Paso Fino Horse Show. The horses were gorgeous. It was so neat to hear their four beat gait on the sound board. I wish I could go see their National Competion in Perry, GA next month. The week definitely ended much better than it began.

Monday Already

Road trip. Haley lounging on the way to the house in Jay.

Bo "smiling" at Haley!

Madeline up on her hands and knees. She inchworms to reach whatever she wants. Won't be long at all before she is crawling. At her five month checkup she was 19lbs 6oz.

I can't believe it's Monday again all ready. The weekend was definitely too short. I got off of work on Friday in a thunderstorm. I was just too tired to try to make the trip to Jay in the storm so I decided to wait until Saturday morning. I got up Saturday and got motivated. I mowed the back yard in Hattiesburg, washed dishes, did laundry and cleaned up around the house before heading out. Saturday was Rachael's birthday. Happy 24th! I got us some Chinese food for dinner and we had a red velvet cake for dessert. Sunday morning I mowed the front yard in Jay. Wish I could have gotten the back yard done too, but it just got too hot. It will just have to wait until the next trip. RonJon looks really good. He has been working hard to get back in shape and get his blood pressure down for his next trip to MEPS. Hopefully all of his hard work will pay off by the end of this week.

Long Week

It was a really long week after I got back to Hattiesburg. I had to work half a day on Saturday as well as having to be at work at 0600 Sunday morning. Jennifer had all four of her wisdom teeth out on Thursday. She was hurting when I talked to her Friday morning. She was having problems trying to take the pain meds because they were upsetting her stomach. And as if that wasn't enough, she was ordered to go pick up the mail for her unit even though she was put on quarters by the doctor. Someone in her chain of command needs a serious kick in the head! RonJon went to MEPS on Saturday. He had his physical to try to join the Navy. Seems he needs to lay off the energy drinks. He passed everything else but failed for his blood pressure. The best one they got was 145/95. Needs to be under 140/90. So, this week, his recruiter will be taking him to medical for 5 days straight and if he gets good readings for 5 days signed by a physician, then he will get a waiver from MEPS and he can still join. If everything goes the way they hope, he could go back as early as next Saturday. I got some disturbing news yesterday. A friend who is over here on the same kind of orders as me got an order modification in the mail this week. No prior notice, no nothing. His orders were supposed to run until February. The just modified them to end on 14 Aug. That's kind of scary! Now, he doesn't even have enough time left to take the leave he has on the books. Makes you wonder if they are planning on doing this to anyone else (or everyone else) and if so, why haven't we heard anything about this sooner. Nothing like giving you time to plan!! Hopefully, I'll find out more about that this week. Well, I suppose I better get ready for work. I seem to be a little slow on motivation this morning since this is the 8th day in a row. Maybe I can scam a comp day one day this week.....

Great Grandma

Mother got to spend some time with her beautiful Great Granddaughter this weekend before heading on the rest of the way back home. I got off of work early yesterday and headed home as quick as I could. We went out to dinner last night with Kirby, Sean and my friend Julie. We went to La Hacienda. Yummy as always. Mother headed out with Nell about 9am this morning on the last leg of her summer trip. It was a lovely vacation while it lasted!......
