Milton Burning

So, I finally got off of work early today and decided to head out to Holt to look at some property out that way... Just one problem. I had barely gotten on the Interstate and gotten up to speed when we all came to a sudden halt. We creeped along for a bit and I wondered what the heck?! Turns out there was a wildfire burning between the bridge and the Avalon Blvd exit, so I was put off the Interstate at the very next exit after the one I had just gotten on. Oh well.. I decided to make the best of it and changed my mind about looking at the property today. They dumped me off the Interstate right in front of Dairy Queen. I watched the smoke and the fire in the distance for a bit, while I ate a small mint oreo blizzard. :-)

I was really hoping you would be able to see the flames better in this one. They really kicked up for a few minutes and from this angle, seemed to be lapping at the end of the bridge.

One of the other detoured travellers was coming from Texas. He and his passenger are meeting some friends down in Stuart for a golfing trip. He said he always brings Gumby with him and takes a picture of him where ever he goes. His friend was obviously embarrassed by this, as he took a few steps back when Gumby came out and tried to pretend like he didn't know the guy... but I thought it was awesome and had to get a picture of him too!!

Pics to share

Bryan and I often go out geocaching on days off and you never know what you will see!! We spotted this guy out on the highway near Ft. Walton Beach.

This was from the Christmas party at the Reserve unit. I finally got to meet Dustin's girlfriend MeLissa.

We were really hoping that this wasn't from the Ghost of Christmas Future.

Last weekend, Bryan and I went to Slidell, LA. We spotted this in one of the neighborhoods there. I don't think I have ever seen such a giant Santa in someone's yard before!!!

He made the two story house look small.

This was yesterday evening. We were walking along the beach in Gulf Breeze. It was unbelievably nice out and what a view!

Duty weekend

The 842nd Signal Company had our Christmas party on our drill weekend. Bryan had his military duty this weekend too, so he didn't get to come to the party with me, but we did grab a few minutes together while he headed from one military post to the other. Gotta grab the quality time where you can!!

Happy Easter

Natalie looked beautiful in her Easter dress.

Jennifer's neighbor Holly invited a bunch of friends over for a cookout and an easter egg hunt for the kids.

Daddy helped her get started.

Mommy helped too.

Natalie really seemed to enjoy it and actually picked up on the idea of finding the eggs and putting them in her basket pretty quickly.

Weekend Trip

I left first thing this morning and drove straight through to Jennifer and Cory's. It was an ungodly long drive, but well worth it!

Natalie has gotten quite a bit of blonde hair since the last time I was here.

This is their new family dog, Brutus. He is a five month old Great Dane. I love his coloring and he is very well mannered, especially for being so yound.

Playing with beach toys in the dirt.

Natalie kept coming closer while I was trying to take the picture.

Cutie Pies!!! Natalie with her friend Brooke.

Pics from Monday

Before I left Jennifer's house on Monday, we set up the camera and took a few last pics.

I left Jennifer's house and went to RonJon's. Too awesome to get to see my kids and their families in the same day.

Even though the weekend was shorter than it was supposed to be, it was pretty awesome!

Visit with Jennifer

I got to make a quick trip to see Jennifer and her family. I was supposed to head up here Friday night after school, but the snow day we got on Monday screwed all that up and I had class most of the day on Saturday. I headed up here last night and got to spend all day with them today. Natalie is a doll!

Cory made us biscuits and gravy for breakfast.

Natalie loves her sunglasses. What a poser!

For dinner we went to Luigi's. It was SO good!
Natalie getting a ride from daddy.
I had a lovely day with them today. I wish I could stay longer, but I'm just glad I got the chance to come at all. I'm headed back to Ft. Gordon tomorrow. One more week of class and then it's back home again.

Back in Augusta

So, here I am back in Augusta, GA. I got here last night ahead of the weather to attend a training class for the new equipment that our unit is getting. This morning it was all snow covered under a layer of ice and they closed the post. So I got a snow day today. I very carefully drove over to spend some time with Rachael and Maddie.

Chilling out on the couch with Maddie

She is such a cutie!
Becky needed to go out for a walk, so we all went to take her and to play in the snow along the way.
Rachael was making a miniature snowman. Maddie wanted to put it on the back patio. It was hard for Rachael to find decent snow under the ice to make that happen, but Maddie seemed happy with the results.
I'll be up here in school for two weeks. I am hoping to make a trip to see Jennifer and her family this coming weekend and will share pics from that as well.
